Superb allegorical bronze of immortality or eternal youth. Hebe, young naked woman, goddess of eternal youth, raises the cup of the nectar of the gods while riding an eagle (Zeus, her father). Beautiful patina. Signed on the base for the Italian artist Luca Madrassi.

Hebe in Greek mythology is the goddess of youth. She is the daughter of Zeus and his elder sister, Hera. Hebe was cupbearer to the gods of Mount Olympus, serving their nectar and ambrosia which ensure immortality. She is often depicted with her father Zeus in the guise of an eagle.
Luca Madrassi (Tricessimo in Italy 1848 – 1919) was an Italian sculptor who studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and became a French citizen. Creative, he mainly executed allegories and genre scenes in feet or bust. He regularly sent his work to the Salon.
